UFO SIGHTING REPORTS FROM 2002

Late-2001/early 2002, Houston: (evening) (HBCC UFO)

"My wife and I were traveling from Smithers to Houston - I think around 2001 or 2002 (she will remember) any ways on the way up Hungry Hill [10 minutes from Houston] we saw a what appeared to be a very large craft but with very very dim lights glowing from underneath - we watched it for a long time as we climbed Hungry Hill, we both agreed it could not be a plane, I remarked to my wife jokingly that the lights on the craft were so dim and he should hit his high beams - well just then the lights (can't remember how many) got super super bright and the craft sped off. There were a lot of cars of the highway that night."

14-Jan-2002, Surrey BC: (12:30 am)

Well me and my bro went out for a smoke and we seen a bright orange star and I saw it dart and I was like whoa did you see that? He looked and we watched it make triangles squares and take off then stop grow brighter then dimmer and shine off the clouds.. At first it was close to the clouds then they started seem to be rounding up the cloud together and eventually the cloud looked like a wave heading southwest. Well we had been watching it for 45 mins I looked to see if there were others, I noticed smaller more distant darting blue lights rounding the cloud in other places so I watched in astonishment till 2 am until I decided to quit freezing my buns off. The larger object was in the center of the group and my bro said he thought it looked like a triangle. Any ways if anybody else sees it I would like to know what they thought it was doing, because at first I thought it seemed like the pilot was drunk... He was flying a pattern then would just make an erratic turn or stop and reverse. WOW I just have to say it was amazing the way these things moved reminded me of a video game and yes I was sober.

15-Jan-2002, Surrey BC: (12:10 am)

Yah the lights were up there again today and just checking to see if anyone else was watching. (Six light shaped objects) well they were dancing again to the south of my position. Some alterations in their color today I noticed a red color in one of them. A small light blue type light was doing profound maneuvers to the south south east. Being going outside on and off for 3 hours and they're still up there. Stars by 3 am were off to the west so I can sort of rule that out though I cannot imagine how you can see a star do maneuvers like that. I am sober and would like someone with a video camera to get out there and tape this. I've tried taking pictures though my first ones didn't turn out great. Better luck with a different camera I hope.

1-Feb-2002, Usk: (6:00 - 6:30 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A man reported that he was travelling from Kitseguecla to Terrace with his wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, when they saw a very large, bright light in the sky. At this point they were near Usk, which is approximately 20 - 25 kilometers south of Terrace. The light was seen sitting close to the top, or just below the top rim of a nearby mountain. It looked to be square in shape, very glossy and contained red, orange and yellow colours. It did not appear to be moving for the period of time that they watched it, and they heard no noise. All of the witnesses stated that they had never seen anything like it before. On the return trip, about 4 hours later, the light was no longer there.

1-Feb-2002, Telkwa: (9:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

Three women were travelling through Telkwa on their way home to Houston after a day's shopping in Smithers when they noticed a very bright light glowing through the overcast sky. As they watched, a glowing object descended out of the clouds, heading in their direction. As the object got closer, they slowed from 90 kph to about 50 kph to get a better look, but when it got to tree top level and was still descending towards the highway, they accelerated to put some distance between the car and the object. As it passed over the car, one of the passengers looked straight up and saw a "huge" craft with 7 large, bright white lights and 2 orange lights at either end. See witness drawing below:

1-Feb-2002, Smithers: (10:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

"This witness told me he had gone to rent a video from the Smithers Hollywood Video store and after he came out and got into his car and starting driving down the road, something caught his eye. He mentioned, due to the lights from the town of Smithers he could see the object rather well. He pulled his vehicle over, got out and watched it fly slowly over and around the town for approximately five minutes. He also told me he thought it was descending and his first thoughts were of a para-glider and said it was the best way he could describe what he was looking at. He also said the object had "one" bright white light on it. He mentioned the light would go bright to dim, but said he wasn't sure if this was due to the object turning." - Brian Vike

3-Feb-2002, Houston: (7:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A woman and her husband were at home when they heard a loud humming coming from outside. The woman got up to investigate, looking out a couple of windows before she noticed a very bright white object hovering above the Bulkley River just north a few hundred yards from their place of residence. She called to her husband to come and see it. They both witnessed this large bright white object hovering at tree top level and shooting beams of light down towards the river. This sighting lasted approximately 30 seconds from the time it was discovered before it shot up the side of the mountain and disappeared.

First week of February-2002, Vanderhoof: (6 - 6:30 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A woman saw an extremely bright light just east of Vanderhoof while she was driving on Surgeon Point Road. She believes this bright white light was below the crest of the surrounding mountains. She watched it for less than a minute before losing sight of it when she drove behind some trees.

Although the witness did say that the light resembled a plane coming into land at an airport, it just seemed too bright. The local Vanderhoof airport has no commercial traffic and is not equipped for night landings.

7-Feb-2002, Telkwa: (8:45 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A man and his wife were relaxing in their outdoor hot tub when they noticed a strange light in the Eastern sky. The man explained that this thing was changing colors, really, really fast and said it was not a planet or star and wasn't anything like this and the colors were very distinct. The colors were changing from red to green to blue and seemed to just "snap in and out". He went on to say that an hour later the lights were exactly in the same spot. Shortly afterwards they completely disappeared. In his words: "It was if someone blew out a candle" and the lights were gone.

Investigators Note (Brian Vike): When I was listening to this report my first thoughts were that what they were seeing was most likely a star. "But", after these lights stayed stationary for an hour or more I ruled this out. I wish we could have gotten a picture of this. It may not have shown much but would have been interesting anyway.

15-Feb-2002, North Vancouver: (7:36 pm) (NUFORC)

The writer has done work with the Regina Astronomical Society; so my observation is not one based on lack of training. At approximately 7:36 pm, an extremely bright single point-source white light similar in appearance to Venus but much brighter was seen directly north and positioned between big and little dipper: there was no movement against star field; at first sight it was at least three times brighter than Venus at its best; but then faded out within about 20 seconds. Since this is outside the ecliptic plane I assumed it could have been:
1: A flare fired from mountains north of city, but the elevation was too high.
2: A balloon (but what made the bright light)?
3: A meteor seen head-on (but there was no motion, no arc, no directional movement)
4: A Nova (extremely rare).
5: Something military unexplained!
6: Aircraft (but again there was no motion against star field).

22-Feb-2002, Houston: (9:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

Several witnesses watched a very 'large' bright white light break through the cloud cover and descend to just over treetop level. The light moved alongside the highway and right over the top of some of the witnesses."

24-Feb-2002, Vancouver: (12:45 am)

The witness was outside and noticed and object moving rapidly below the clouds. The witness ran inside and returned with a second person. They both observed a black box-like object with grey ends moving around low in the sky. The object stopped instantly, briefly rose, then descended again and moved very rapidly to the east until it could not be seen over the rooftops of intervening houses.

24-Feb-2002, Ladner: (8:45 pm)

Witness went outside for a cigarette and looked up at the sky. The witness was looking northeast and observed a very bright spherical object descend rapidly, then stop. The object then took off horizontally to the southwest. It was a mixture of gold and orange in colour and was very bright.

25-Feb-2002, Courtenay: (7:50 pm) (NUFORC)

"I saw two bright lights moving in an unconventional fashion. When I first noticed the light it was behind a group of trees that was blocking my view. I moved my head around to get a better look through the branches. After 20-30 seconds I gave up and continued with my smoke. A half minute later I looked back at it to see if it had moved enough for me to see it better. It had moved, to the left of the group of trees. I was curious what it was because it was brighter than a plane. As I studied it I noticed that it was actually two lights close together. They looked to be about the distance apart of 1 centimeter held at arm’s length. The two white lights had hints of many more smaller lights or possibly a reflection between the two. It moved slowly to the left and then stopped dead before moving back to the right (it didn't seem to accelerate, or decelerate. It was just moving or it wasn't, with no in between speed) and continued in that direction until it was out of site about 15-20 seconds later. The two lights stayed the same distance apart and at the same horizontal orientation to each other which rules out a plane banking. As its direction changed the one in the lead that was the brightest grew darker, and the one that NOW was in the lead, grew brighter. Its position in the sky was very close vertically to the tree line on the other side of a clear cut that is about 500 meters across from my backyard. The object was in my opinion about 1/2 mile away, but could have been much further as its size was hard to judge. There was no sound at all (it was a very quiet night) or blinking running lights like you see on all aircraft. If it was a rescue helicopter from CFB Comox (the largest helicopters in the area) it would have been fairly loud from that distance and it also moved unlike any fixed wing aircraft Commercial/private/or military I can think of. I’m located just on the outskirts of Courtenay B.C. to the west of town and I was looking north.

26-Feb-2002, Hazelton: (00:15 to 00:30 am) (HBCC UFO)

The witness had just left work and was travelling on Highway #16 between Hazelton and Kitwanga when she saw a very bright flash that lit up the whole area. She had experienced this same flash previously, in the same area. See report on 7-Dec-2001.

26-Feb-2002, Whistler: (10:00 am) (NUFORC)

“It was about 10am. A group of us had just been skiing for a few days up in Whistler and we were on our way back to Vancouver. In broad daylight, this saucer appeared over the mountain range in the distance. It just hovered there. Then, it started going higher and higher until finally there was a flash of light and it was gone.”

Late February-2002, Kitwanga: (between 4:30 and 5 am) (HBCC UFO)

The witness was driving on a logging road south of Highway #37 between 55 and 60 kilometers north of Kitwanga when he saw a bright light through the trees.

End of February-2002, South Hazelton: (1:00 am) (HBCC UFO)

The witness was outside walking her dog when she saw an object just above the trees, flying slowly southwards. She estimated the object was between 30 to 40 feet in length and red in colour. She described the object as tubular in shape, but "like a triangle". The side closest to the witness seemed to be transparent as she could see the stars through it.

At one point she considered climbing over the back fence to follow it, but as she was alone she decided it would be better not to. She lost visual contact as the craft slowly headed south over the resident's roof tops. She heard no noise at all and the puppy did not react to it.

28-Feb-2002, Sinkut Mountain: (between 5:30 and 6 am) (HBCC UFO)

A man and his wife were travelling between Vanderhoof and Prince George when they noticed a very bright light moving around near the top of Sinkut Mountain. It looked like the light was on, or above, a "landing" (meaning an area which has been logged and now clear of timber), near the tree line. The light would be travelling slow, then speed up and then disappear altogether. It would suddenly reappear in a different spot in the same area. The light was orangey white in colour, very bright and would at times move extremely fast.

The Forestry Service was contacted and they said that there was definitely no logging, or any other activity, in that area.

28-Feb/1-Mar-2002, Sinkut Mountain: (about 5:30 am) (HBCC UFO)

A woman was in her kitchen when she noticed an extremely bright white light moving around in the sky in the direction of Sinkut Mountain. She said that the light would move, then stop and was gone, but in an instant it was back where it started from. She watched it for quite some time and even used binoculars but could only see a bright white light. She said that it zipped around so quickly that it could not have been an aircraft or logging equipment.

Spring 2002 or 2003, Parksville, BC:

I was sitting in my yard a few years ago and it was a clear sunny (but cold) day. As I was sitting there I saw a little silver dot in the direction of the beach; it started to get closer and I saw that it was about 1 or 2 feet tall and about 2 or 3 feet wide. It flew very slowly from the direction of the beach and ended up flying right over the house next door to mine and then off towards the mountains. It was only about 20 feet high in the air and was the shape of a half circle. The bottom was completely flat but the top was curved like a half circle, it was a silvery-coloured and very shiny. It was also smooth all over and I haven’t got a clue how this thing managed to stay in the air - even though it was small, it looked very heavy, and it was gliding along staying at the same height and speed the whole time but if a breeze would come it seemed to wobble a bit. It was so close and it was a clear, perfect day...I have no clue what it could of been other then a UFO...and I'm also surprised that nobody saw it...it seemed to come from the direction of the middle of town...it was moving so slow that I would have had time to go get a camera or get somebody else to come see but I was in so much shock that all I did was sit there staring…

4-Mar-2002, Terrace: (5:30 - 5:45 am) (HBCC UFO)

A man was outside doing his cardio workout before heading off to his place of employment when he saw what looked like a bright star shoot across the sky and come to a complete stop. After about 4 seconds it did a loop in the sky and then went straight up and disappeared. It was originally travelling from east to west, but on a bit of an angle.

4-Mar-2002, Terrace: (10:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A ball of white light moving from the northeast to the southwest. Low in altitude and came to a complete stop, hovering at approximately 5,000 feet then continued traveling along until out of sight. The witness said that the whole event took about 10 to 15 seconds.

5-Mar-2002, Kitimat: (8:45 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A 9-year-old boy was outside with his parents, looking towards the north, when he saw a bright light with a red and orange layer, and having a tail. He said he didn't see it fall to the ground because it disappeared behind a tree. When his dad had him write down what he saw, he wrote "Going down like a ball of fire." His parents had been sky-gazing in different parts of the sky and didn't see what their son saw.

8-Mar-2002, Terrace: (between 9 and 10:30 pm) (HBCC UFO)

A man went outside to have a cigarette and noticed a very bright circle of lights, almost white in colour. As he watched, the lights slowly got dimmer and after 5-6 minutes had faded out. "At first they didn't move then they did move going west. The sky was full of stars and it was very clear and cold out I believe their were 6-9 lights and when it moved they went west very slowly and seem to be going in slow motion."

8-Mar-2002, Terrace: (between 10 and 11 pm) (HBCC UFO)

The witness came out of his home and was walking down the street taking a cigarette break and looking toward the sky when he saw a green and yellow streak of light cross the sky very quickly. This sighting lasted approximately 2 seconds.  The light was traveling from east to west at the time.

Note: this was probably a meteor.

9-Mar-2002, Terrace: (1:30 am) HBCC UFO

UFO spotted traveling at a high speed. Bluish in color with a white glow extending out from the main body of the object. It was reported to be heading in a southwesterly direction. Both witness claimed they had never seen anything like it.

Between 18 and 24-Mar-2002, Houston: (10:30 pm) (HBCC UFO)

“The UFO I saw was in the direction towards Morice Mountain. (Note: Morice Mountain is south of Houston and directly behind the town and runs above timberline). I saw the object around 11:30 p.m. I think the date was between the March 18 and the 24th. It was a bright white light with an orange glow around it and was hovering just below the mountain line. I watched it for about 2 minutes before it disappeared.

19-Mar-2002, Kitimat: (7:35 am) (HBCC UFO)

A resident of Terrace was driving to work in Kitimat when he saw “something” come out of the sky with flames coming out the back. The object appeared to be going straight down towards Kitimat with yellow, blue and red flames behind it, and trailing smoke.

21-Mar-2002, New Hazelton: (4:10 am) HBCC UFO

The witness, on the way to his workplace, reported seeing a white disc-shaped object traveling slowly above and behind the local super market. He explained the object was very, very bright. Also, it was not very high up because the object was traveling below the peak of the mountain seen behind the store.

21-Mar-2002, Houston: (7:00 pm)
(HBCC UFO)

Two witnesses were at the Sullivan Pontiac dealership in Houston they noticed, in the sky, a very bright white object surrounded by an orange glow. It appeared to be above a barn in a field behind the dealership. The fellows got their camera and started taking pictures. As soon as the “flash” of the camera started going off, the object started to rise up and come slowly towards them! They threw the camera onto the front seat, jumped into their vehicle and quickly drove away. When they looked back, the bright light had disappeared.

25-Mar-2002, Terrace: (11:25 pm) HBCC UFO

A fellow and his girlfriend were sky-watching when they witnessed a "large", silver-colored disc. They estimated it was about three times larger than their home. The object appeared to be high up and traveling along very quickly.

29-Mar-2002, Coombs: (00:20 am)
(NUFORC)

“I live in the woods so there are no other lights around, plus tonite is overcast so there were no stars in the sky or no moon, I was taking my dog out to do her business, when I stepped out the door I couldn't help but notice a bright yellow orange circle moving very slow from west to east just above me. I would say possibly a mile up. It was below the clouds, then it stopped for about 15 seconds, then I ran in the house and grabbed my camera. I took a couple of pictures then all of a sudden it turned north going very slowly, then all of a sudden sparks shot from it. It was still staying in the same place for another 10 seconds (I was talking to my brother on the phone telling him and describing what it was doing) and then it just disappeared. I got 3 or 4 pictures.”

29-Mar-2002, Coombs/Parksville: (00:30 am)

The witness was outside with her dog when she observed a round light moving toward her from the west. It was glowing with an orange-yellow light and had the apparent size of a dime held at arm's length. The witness observed the object for a minute then ran inside to get her camera. When she returned the object was still there. She took several pictures of it with her Canon Snappy LX. The object stopped for several seconds (about 15 seconds) and when stopped emitted a shower of sparks. The object seemed to be slowly pulsating. The object then proceeded towards the North at a very slow pace. Once again it stopped and emitted a shower of sparks before departing to the North.

4-Apr-2002, Sunset Lake: (11:50 pm) HBCC UFO

A family watched a bright white glowing object staying stationary above Sunset Lake. It did not make any sound. Due to the overcast sky, they knew it could not be a planet or a star. After about a couple of minutes the object rose up, moved erratically and disappeared in a southerly direction. They said that this was an event they will never forget.

10-Apr-2002, Victoria: (9:23 pm)

“Hi, last nite me and my partner saw a ball of light yellow/white travel over our house from west to east at about 9:23 pm. It just disappeared into the clouds. Sighting lasted about 10-15 seconds.” [UFO*BC - This photo was actually taken by “Ed” in Spokane, but is very similar to what the witnesses saw in Victoria, just below the clouds.]

Last summer we saw a huge white egg shaped blimp (for lack of a better word) in the east. It just sat motionless disappeared then reappeared 20 minutes later....beautiful sunny day nobody else seemed to notice. The weird thing was our lack of response, I can’t believe I did not take a picture as I had film. It was as if we didn't really believe our eyes.

21-Apr-2002, Houston: (11:00 pm) (HBCC UFO)

The witness watched a very bright white light, with an orange glow around it, for about a minute. It was just above the tree line, northwest of the train bridge over the Bulkley River. She reported hearing no sound, possibly because she was indoors. The date is approximate.

30-Apr-2002, Kelowna: (10:14 pm) (NUFORC)

"Looking at Jupiter with my son, we both notice something very faint pass in front of our view. What little was visible of it resembled a delta, or 'V' shaped object. Very little detail could be made of it, some very very dimly visible leading edges giving the impression of the delta shape. My son thought it was a plane, but there were 'zero' lights present on the object. I personally thought it might be a hang glider, but it is two hours past sundown and cooling dramatically outside. Besides...it seemed awfully high. it followed a south to north path pretty well perfectly. No sound was present at all, and flew at an estimated/guesstimated 10,000 feet. Don't quote me on that altitude as size was an issue to determine. I thought it could have been the ISS, but checking the position of the station found it to be only 'approaching' the western coasts of S. America and following the wrong course for what we saw. If it was a plane it was running silent and dark. If it was a hang glider it should have been dropping fairly quickly in suburban areas. Either way it was unlit, V shaped, and very quiet. A stealth fighter flying without lights or sound??"

2-May-2001, Vancouver: (00:02 am) NUFORC

I was looking out my bedroom window just after midnight and noticed 3 odd lights in the sky. I live very close to the Vancouver airport and have seen hundreds of aircraft (commercial and military) in the last couple years. This aircraft(s) was bizarre. It was as if there was one "leader light" that kept a very straight course. There was one light on the left and one on the right side that kept very haphazard courses, swirling around the middle light, but never crossing in front or behind it. The lights seemed fairly high, but were uncommonly bright for that height. Judging from what I assumed its height was, the velocity made it clear it was not a commercial aircraft, and even passed a military plane's speed.

I saw three lights, but was unable to tell if there were three separate crafts. The reason for posting this sighting now instead of last year, is because I just read on www.ufobc.ca of someone else seeing a similar craft at almost the same time.

14-May-2002, Surrey: (11:17 pm)

Witness had gone outside to smoke a cigarette. While observing the night sky she noticed a glowing orange ball in the northeast. The object was approximately 45 degrees above the horizon, appeared to be self illuminated and was approximately 1/16th the diameter of the full moon. The object was stationary during the approximately one minute that it was under observation. At one point during the observation two glowing "fireballs" were released in rapid succession by the orange object. The object then disappeared.

16-May-2002, Vancouver: (8:58 am) NUFORC

"Approximately 8:58 am this morning (Thursday, May 16 2002) I was having breakfast at a cafe down by the beach and I looked up and saw a white light very high in the sky. It was a clear day not a cloud in sight. The object moved slowly at first. It moved in an elliptical pattern. It seemed to slow down at one point and then stop for three or four seconds. Then it sped up again and continued along its circular path going back the way it came. It disappeared behind a building and I never saw it again. The entire event may have taken up to two minutes."

"There was only one object. It didn't appear shiny, just white.. and very very high in the sky."

16-May-2002, Vancouver: (9:00 am)

The witness was enjoying a morning coffee from the English Bay Café and happened to look up. A very small white object was observed moving slowly from west to east. The witness, who claimed to have excellent vision, at first thought it might be a bird but the object did not display bird-like behaviour. The object was observed to slow, reverse direction and proceed slowly to the west. A balloon might have been a possibility except for the reversal of movement. The object was directly overhead and probably had an angular diameter of less than 0.1 degrees (the full moon has an apparent diameter of 0.5 degrees).

17-May-2002, Vancouver: (6:00 - 6:30 am)

The witness and his girlfriend were in downtown Vancouver at Seymour and Georgia on Friday May 17th. The witness looked up to see a black disc-shaped object in the sky. At first he thought it was an eclipse of the Sun but immediately realized that this was not possible as the Sun was evident. He alerted his girlfriend who also looked. They pointed out the object to others around them. The other observers looked up and said things like, "Isn't that interesting.", and carried on. The object was in sight for approximately 15 minutes then instantly disappeared.

31-May-2002, Windermere to Canal Flats: (1:00 am) (NUFORC)

"My sister and I were travelling from Vancouver to Kimberly. It was about 1am when we reached Windermere. A few miles south from there we saw a bright strobe light above some trees. We thought it was a beacon of some kind, but we noticed that it took a long time to reach it and finally pass it. It was almost in the trees and the road travelled in a way that we could not see it when we passed it. A few moments later we saw another bright, white strobe light just above the trees quite a bit further down the road. At one point I could see it flashing just above a house. We were getting closer now and we finally realized it was moving. There were no marker lights, no spotlight and we were in a bit of a thunder and lightning storm so I really do not think it was any kind of legitimate aircraft. This second light stayed with us for a minute or so travelling at our speed just above the trees about 50 feet to our left. It stopped "following" us just before the next small town. When we reached Fairmont, we stopped and I could still see it flashing in the distance. We continued on, quite scared now. We crossed a small bridge and I saw another one on my right but it was stationary. Then as we travelled alongside Columbia Lake we saw another one. This one was on the other side of the lake, but it stayed with us for a few minutes. When we reached Canal Flats, it stopped, and when we looked back there were two hovering over the town. We were frightened and continued on our way."

"This road was quite deserted, but there were probably thirty other vehicles that must have seen something. We sure won't be the same."

2-June-2002, West Vancouver: (9:45 am)

The witness spotted several sphere-shaped UF0s over West Vancouver. "The first object came up from Vancouver Island in the south", he said. It was in the shape of a ball and "coloured like a cloud". The witness estimated that it was just over a mile away and about 2000 feet in altitude above the Pacific Ocean. It flew horizontally at the speed of a small jet. Some 30 seconds later, four other spherical objects approached from the same direction in the shape of a rhombus with one trailing behind.

"The first sphere disappeared while I watched the other four, which still flew at the speed of a jet until they came over Bowen Island. They then went from horizontal to vertical mode, increased speed and suddenly came to a stop, hovering at over 50,000 feet. They looked like four stars in the sky but after about five minutes they suddenly disappeared."

20-Jun-2002, Surrey, BC: (6:30 pm)

The witness was out on his apartment balcony using his phone when he spotted a disc shaped craft that was silver on top, with a darker bottom. He grabbed his field glasses but was unable to detect a cupola on the craft. The sky was clear and he estimated that the UFO was about 3000' from him at an altitude of 500'. It was hovering and moving slowly S.S.E. when he first saw it. He watched it move behind a house and finally lost it from view when it headed south and disappeared behind some trees. Total viewing time 3 minutes. During the viewing period he had time to phone Terry Tibando, Vancouver Working Group Coordinator for CSETI (Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence) - in Port Moody describing what he was watching.

21-June-2002, Surrey, BC: (3:00 pm)

G.C. was lying on the lawn of his daughter's residence near 132nd Street and the intersection of 108th Avenue. The sky was clear and sunny/hot.

He suddenly observed a very bright white object approaching rapidly from the west, at an angle of 90 degrees. The object was heading S. East. Suddenly in mid flight it executed a jiggle and turned in the direction of Coquitlam and very smoothly sailed off in a N. Easterly direction. Its estimated altitude was 10,000'? Total observation time 10 seconds. The observer is not aware of any other witnesses.

23-Jun-2002, Surrey, BC: (3:05 pm)

A man sights a UFO from a rooftop balcony at a condo complex near 72 & Scott in Surrey. For the full story with drawing click HERE.

29-June-2002, West Vancouver:

Several witnesses saw a “stingray-shaped sphere” gliding over the city, swooping down over a nearby lake and then climbing towards the northwest before disappearing into the clouds. They watched the object depart through binoculars, reporting the UFO as gray/black on one side.

July 2002, Centenial Beach, Delta BC (Tsawwassen): (1:00 pm)

Sighting Details: About 40 degrees in the sky east of where we were on the beach; appearing over White Rock, BC. I had been looking at the spot where the object appeared for a while. It started as if a star had just turned on, It caught my attention because it seamed much more uniform that the other stars (and that it just appeared of course) it was a pale blue color and did not pulse. it stayed stationary for a few moments while I scratched my head, then very quickly moved down and to the right, the sharply to the left (200 + degrees) the back up and to the right (another 200 + degrees) It left a trail behind it that remained through all three segments like light cycle in Tron. The shape left behind was like a trapezoid with an open top. The object disappeared as the light trail wound forward to follow the object and also disappear. The time of the whole event was about 7 seconds and covered a very large amount of space. It is the only UFO I've ever witnessed, but as an aviation and astronomy enthusiast I know the physics involved are beyond conventional explanation.

July 2002, Invermere:  HBCC UFO

Ten miles south of Invermere, British Columbia a witness watched, and video taped a rectangular object sitting stationary in the sky. The day was clear, no clouds. She filmed the object for about 20 seconds before it slowly flew off. More information to follow.

7-July-2002, Cabin Lake: (11:45 am)

Although he did not see the object with his naked eyes, a man did notice that he captured a disc-shaped object with his digital camera while taking pictures on Cabin Lake Road, northeast of Fort Nelson. For full story and pictures click HERE.

10-Jul-2002, North Vancouver: (7:00 pm)

Hello, I was not sure until I saw one but now I believe I saw a u.f.o. yesterday night around 7:00 pm (broad daylight), on the North shore where I live, my apartment faces east on East 4th Street and Lonsdale. I looked up from my balcony and saw this mango orange oval object, when I realized it was not a kid’s balloon a plane a helicopter or some bird. The thing that was suspended in air took off to the right on a straight line, no noise and fast. Time estimated of the sighting: 7 or 8 seconds. The distance estimation only about 2 blocks away from my place but about 20 floors high (I live on the top floor of a 3 story high building).

I would really appreciate to know if there was other sighting that night?

UFO*BC Responds:

The witness was contacted and although we could not tell her that we received other reports of the event she did provide us with further details:

The object was about one quarter the size of the full moon. The edge of the object was very well defined and she was given the impression that the object was metallic and as she was looking at it toward the east she gathered that it may had been reflecting the orange sky in the west. She remarked "your brain is not trained to see something like this". During the sighting she tried to classify the object as some conventional observation but was unable to do so. It was not until it was over that it sunk in that she saw some truly out of the ordinary. When the UFO departed rapidly she lost sight of it behind some trees.

12-July-2002, Colwood: (12:20 am)

"On July 12, 2002, at around 10:20 p.m. my wife and I watched a dark, triangular UFO with solid, coloured lights (not flashing) at each apex fly silently from north to south over the Royal Roads University grounds. RRU is in Colwood, a suburb of Victoria. I would estimate that the UFO was about half a mile away and probably up around 1,000 feet or so. It seemed to be larger than an airplane. As it flew, one of the flat sides of the triangle was in front and the apex opposite was in the rear. We could see its shape inside the triangle of lights. When it went behind a tree we ran out into the yard but it had already completely disappeared. It must have moved off at great speed or we would definitely have caught sight of it again. At no time did we hear any sound. The entire sighting lasted around 20 seconds. It was very impressive."

13-July-2002, Vancouver: (1:30 am) NUFORC

3 people saw from 8 to 15 brightly glowing fireballs in the northern sky of the west end of Vancouver, BC, Canada. Most of them were descending towards the water behind a mountain, some fairly quickly, but some extremely slowly. One moved in a zig-zag pattern. All of these fireballs left behind trails of smoke, but the 3 of us cannot agree whether it was dark or light smoke.

Most of the object appeared fairly high in the sky and descended, however, a few were seen moving upwards from ground level, and one moved up from the ground, then descended again, towards solid ground, and then shot up bright sparks and a plume of white smoke.

The objects may have been shaped like discs seen edge-on, or possibly like shooting stars, only moving very slowly. They may also have been spherical, we were quite far away, and using binoculars, so we didn't see them very well.

The objects were quite bright, and when they fell behind the mountain, some of them produced enough orange glow to light up the sky in the area where they fell.

The objects may have been flickering or flashing, but this may also have been a dust effect due to our distance.

In the beginning, one of us suggested that they might be forest fires, but we soon disproved that - forest fires do not start so high in the air, and do not land in the water.

15-July-2002, Vancouver: (12:30 am)

On July 15/2002 at about 12:30am, I was working in my computer room. I just talked with my girlfriend on phone, I stared at the window by no sense, but suddenly I saw three extremely bright green rays of lights (as shown in animated picture),as if a spaceship moving downwards, heading towards Richmond, BC direction.

I was stunned at the moment, by no time I rushed out my house, trying to find out what those lights were; but to my disappointment not even any sound can be heard. And those lights disappeared so fast!!! I was 100% sure that was not my illusion!!!! I wonder if it was a UFO... So if anyone experienced the same thing on July 16/2002, please email the site or me ASAP!!!!THX!!!

19-July-2002, Squamish: (11:40 pm) NUFORC

My friend and I were outside having a smoke waiting for our pizza sauce. We were just looking at the night sky when we noticed on the left bottom side of the moon a shape that was flying in all different directions. The cone shape object had flashing lights of red, yellow and blue-green. The object itself was very bright too and very noticeable.

20-July-2002, Vancouver: (2:00 am) NUFORC

Just a little over a week ago I was walking home from work. It was about 2am and I decided to sit out in a large park overlooking a large part of east Vancouver. Looking above stargazing/finishing a can of sprite I noticed 4 stars moving in formation. After a closer look I noticed the outline of a triangle shaped craft. It had 3 brighter lights on the points of the triangle and one dull blue light in the centre. I did believe this to be an airplane or I was just plain going nuts. It lasted for nearly half an hour until i saw the lights spin in an almost 180 degree turn. I nearly had a heart attack and got up about to run while looking at the object. But as soon as I got up there was a quick blur and there wasn't anything left to see. And last but not least my cell phone no longer works after that night.

20-July-2002, Surrey: (3:51 am) NUFORC

It was early in the morning and I could not sleep so I went out for a smoke so I was looking up at the sky and I was staring at this satellite and just below it I saw movement. The object was dark, had no lights and very quiet but could still be heard. It went by at a pretty slow speed and did not have the shape of an aircraft and was way too low, it was pretty dark to see it, but I did seethe outline and it was irregular it scared the living shit of me and woke me right up.

21-July-2002, Kitimat: (2:00 pm) NUFORC

I was recently on holidays in the Kitimat, B.C. area. We popped in from Terrace just for a short visit, and when we were leaving, we pulled up at the view point by the fire hall. I said to the kids, I wanted a picture of them (Kitimat 1). I took the picture, but they were goofing off, so I said I wanted to take one more. I took it (Kitimat 2), and as soon as I took it, they ran off to play. I walked up to the red flower, and zoomed in a little to get a shot of the scenery (Kitimat 3). I snapped the picture, but did not notice anything unusual in the shot. When I downloaded the camera that night in Burns Lake, I saw the disk shaped object in the middle. The next day after looking closer I saw the second object to the left of it. And after allot of further review, you can see two other spots, but they are very faint. All these photos are only about 20 to 30 seconds apart. The thing that amazes me is that nothing is there in the second photo, but there they are in the third. They had to have been travelling at a great speed to get there. I don't think I noticed anything in the camera because of the speed in which they are travelling. I phoned the Terrace airport the next day (Monday), and the only traffic they had around 2:00 pm was a Hawker (Lear Jet type), and a Dash Eight. Other that that a couple of small planes. No one had reported anything unusual as well. I did phone again on Thursday to see if anyone had reported anything, and still nothing.

The photos were taken with a pretty good camera (Olympus D-40), 4 mega pixel digital camera. But I have since found out that jpegs are not very good for blowing up images. The more you save an image, the more it gets distorted. I have had the photos copyrighted, because originally I thought there maybe some equipment that would be able to blow it up better than I can. With my computer I can make out, what looks to be windows, and another some type of port on the lower left side. It is definitely disk shaped, but with all the light reflecting on it, it looks like a bunch of knuckles around it. I am sending you the copyrighted version, and I am also sending you the original version. I don't know how clear the original version will be for you, I know when I blow it up with a different program, it is more blurry than blowing it up with my camera software. The problem is I can't print the blown up image with my camera software, I have to open it in a different program that lets me print the blown up image, resulting in a more distorted view. I do have an email to Olympus, hoping they can help me. If this thing can be blown up with very good results, it will be the best picture caught on camera, because of al the detail the picture can offer. I have since seen a lot of other photos, and most of them look so plain (like putting two saucers together) they are just all metal, no details at all. The way the light hits it at the of the craft, you can tell the top half is curved up and the bottom half curves down, forming a saucer. The light reflecting on the craft shows a lot of detail. I just have to have a clearer image.

Anyways, it is just total fluke that I got this thing on camera. I think that these things are travelling so fast, nobody gets a chance to see these, unless they stop, or if it's at night (if they have lights).

((NUFORC Note: We have examined the photos sent by the witness. They are high quality photos, but the image of an anomalous object appears to us to be ambiguous. Our guess would be that the object is a large bird, possibly an eagle, flying away from the camera. However, the photographer responds that in the original digital photo, it clearly is not a bird. The witness has been directed to Dr. Jeff Sainio, and Dr. Bruce Maccabee to have them look at the photo. We will seek permission to post the photo to our homepage. PD

“I remember that the sky was still sort of pink we were celebrating the other guy’s birthday. It popped out from the left side of the mountains. “Fred” noticed that it didn't make any noise. I never thought anything of it till he mentioned it so we watched it fly towards the clouds which were low at about 1 mile up. I remember talking to the others about how low the clouds were. We watched it go into the clouds, it never came out the other side I figured that it disappeared. That is the best that I can remember.”

27-July-2002, Terrace: (12:25 am) HBCC UFO

Hello there Brian Vike, I am a 17 year old Terrace youth, my name is (name deleted). Before I discuss the odd event, I must tell you a few things about myself – I’m an open minded artistic soul who has a strong belief in science and have always pondered how fantastic it would be if beings from other parts of our universe would pay earth a visit. Although I always believed there had to be other life out there, I was never truly convinced that they had made contact with earth and its inhabitants until 2 nights ago, when I saw one the most unbelievable, life changing things of my life.

It was 12:25 am July 27 2002, when I discovered there was a moving light in the sky (southwest of Terrace - towards Prince Rupert at high elevation). At first I thought it was probably a plane because of the light movement. But as the object began moving further east and higher up into the sky (yet closer in view) I began to realize it was in fact a cigar /maybe pancake? shaped object with a flickering bright light moving around the side. I still wasn’t completely convinced until I noticed how eerily alien its maneuvers were. I am not a stupid person, that was not natural, not human technology, and unlike anything I had ever seen before. About 2 and half minutes after I had first seen it, it moved from a horizontal position to a diagonal position, but continued to slowly move in the sky frozen in the diagonal position. The light was still running up the side. Since I was walking home at the time on Lanfear road towards Lanfear Hill, I lost track of the object once I headed up the trail. But the last minute or so that I saw it, it began moving northwest, and its elevation began dropping, then I lost sight because trees on the trail obstructed my view. I would sincerely appreciate any feedback/advise to help me with this incredibly life changing experience. Thank you for your time, I hope you can make good use of this new information.

(Name deleted) p.s. I attached a scan of the original rough details I jotted down the moment I got home.

28-Jul-2002, Nanaimo: (11:30 pm)

I live in Nanaimo, BC which is on Vancouver Island and I saw a UFO last night, July 28th at approximately 11:30pm. It was a bright, orange light, the same color as an ordinary street light and was still. It was hovering approximately 100 feet above trees on Neck Point and was there for about 15minutes. After a while the light became more and more bright and all of a sudden it dimmed. Once the light completely darkened, it re appeared and began to move horizontally to the West. It increased speed and disappeared behind a large hill of trees. I never saw it again after that, but a friend of mine saw almost the exact same light in the exact same location where my sighting occurred 2 weeks ago flying irregularly as well.

UFO*BC Responds:

Thank you for your report. How long did you observe the light after it reappeared and then disappeared behind a large hill of trees? Did just one of you have the sighting? Is there a chance that your friend could write his or her sighting that occurred two weeks earlier?

Witness:

My brother was with me at the time of the sighting. After the light reappeared, it immediately started to fly horizontally to the West and we could only observe the light for about 5 seconds before it went behind the hill of the trees. Once it made its way behind the trees, my brother and I started to run to a higher location to get a better view but it was long gone. I could ask my buddy to make a report as well if he wishes to do so.

29-Jul-2002, Telkwa/Houston: (10:30 - 11:00 pm)  HBCC UFO

Nine witnesses in the Telkwa/Houston area saw a bright ball of light travel across the sky. For the full report, see:

Late-July-2002, Hazelton: (10:50 pm) HBCC UFO

“It might be nothing, but during the last week of July 2002, myself and 2 others seen a bright almost white, well lit object in the sky going passed Mount Roche de Boule in Hazelton. What was weird about it, was that the object was bright and made no sound. It was approximately 10:50 in the evening, and the cloud ceiling was below the peak of the mountain that evening.”

“It was clearly seen going in a straight line thru the clouds, almost like it was heading towards the Smithers area. I thought it was weird because the clouds were so low that if it were a small plane you would see the red or green? flashing lights on the tail of the plane and hear the drone of a motor. Also what struck me was the speed in which the object was traveling, kinda fast for a small plane, and the cloud ceiling was also low. We'd seen it go almost under and thru the clouds and come out again, so the cloud ceiling could not have been that high, maybe 3000 feet?”

Aug-2002, Vancouver: (4:30 pm)

Hello, I was wondering if you have had anyone mention seeing an all black ufo flying over Vancouver's westside last August. It moved like a stingray, from south to north west around 4:30 in the afternoon.
Thanks, Mike

UFO*BC Responds:
Hello Mike, I checked our list of 2002 sightings but there is no such sighting listed. Would you like to supply more details of what you saw? What you were doing at the time?
Your approximate location? Direction object sighted? Movement, speeds? Shape(s) of object? Size of object say compared to a full moon? Duration of observation? Feelings, perceptions? Sincerely Martin Jasek, UFO*BC

Witness Responds:
I was walking around the park by my house in late August 2002, on Vancouver's Westside. The object was moving from the south, traveling to the north west at a steady pace. The object moved like a black stingray, the sides rippled as it moved, it was shiny and black, and gave off no light, but reflected sunlight from its surface. It was oval shaped, and about twice the size of a full moon. It was seen for about a minute until it was out of sight. I was talking with my father at the time, when we both noticed it, and just stopped and observed it. Thanks, Mike

23-Aug-2002, Houston: (7:00 pm) HBCC UFO

The witness was at the kitchen sink washing up the day’s dishes and looking out the window which overlooks their large farm. At the far end of their property she noticed a large bright light heading down behind the trees. She could clearly see that it was a shiny cylinder-shaped object, metallic in colour. To her surprise, the object then looped around and headed back up into the sky. The witness then grabbed her video camera and filmed the object. The tape shows a large bright comet-shaped object moving slowly across the sky.

About half an hour later, while finishing up the dishes, she saw another “large, bright white object” rise up from behind the Telkwa mountain range. The object rose straight up above the mountain and then stopped and hovered. She again grabbed her video camera and filmed it as it slowly moved off to the right, along the top of the range. At this point she ran out of film and had to grab another tape. When she started filming the object once again it had already reached the end of the mountain range and was dropping down, but still following the contour of the range. She filmed it until it was blocked behind the trees on her property.

23-Aug-2002, Francois Lake: (9:00 pm) HBCC UFO

“Hi ...just adding my story to your list of sightings....I don't believe in space ships etc but did see something I did not understand or have an explanation for. On August 23rd about 9:00 p.m. just before dark my husband decided he wanted to take a picture of the sunset at the west end of Francois Lake looking west up the valley to Nadina Mtn. We drove down to the bridge over the river there and he got out and spent several minutes taking 3 or 4 shots of the sky to the west. While he was doing this I stayed in the car and watched the sky...thinking that I could see just the smallest sliver of a moon peeking from behind the trees...when he got back into the car, I said something to my husband about getting the moon in a sunset shot and he said what?? that is impossible the moon can't be in that part of the sky what are you thinking?? So I said look at that sliver of light next to the trees it has been there the whole time you were taking pictures, if it isn't the moon what is it? He asked if it had moved ...I said no not at all...then while we were looking at it the light did start to move westward we both watched and puzzled over this for several minutes then I said that he should try and get a picture of what ever it was...he grabbed his binoculars first and we spent a couple more minutes trying to see what it was that we were looking at...finally as it was moving farther off he snapped a picture of this light that we could not define and then we left. Today we got the pictures developed and there is this light far off but still obviously incandesant and to our surprise we find two other similar but more distant lights in the photo. I will forward a picture to you when I can get it scanned...I see you have had one other report from Francois Lake....can you tell me what that one was about? Bye now...(my husband and I wish to remain nameless)”

24-Aug-2002, Vancouver: (11:59 pm)

"My wife received a phone call at 11:45 from my brother. She then told me that the meteor I was waiting for can be seen in the sky. I told her it was last Saturday. I then saw the object she was talking about west. I told her it was an airplane characteristic of the blue and red flashing lights. She then told me my brother also saw it 18 KM away. I said that was impossible. I decided this requires more research. I hauled out my telescope. Spotted the object at 50 power and noticed it was no airplane. Went to 200 power. I then had a clear picture. It was close to the characteristic flying saucer shape. It glowed very intensely. Had a weird rotating sensor beam on the top part of the saucer. It flashed aqua color first and then orange-red second. Much like a rotating spot beam at a 0.5 second rotation. Obviously one beam that could scan orange-red and then aqua. I then took relative size calculations. Today I took bearing calculations at my place and at my brothers to figure out the distance to the object. I also took an object that looked the same size in the telescope at a distance that I measured to figure out the size. I went over to my brothers who pointed to where he saw it. I used my GPS to get the bearing at his place. Using math I calculated the object was 30 meter diameter at a distance of 200 KM. That puts it over Vancouver Island. The object also moved much like a star in the sky. This indicates that it could not be an object in close orbit. The object must of been under power. My brother watched it for over an hour and me for 45 minutes before it went behind some trees. I can say this was not weather balloon or object burning up in the atmosphere. I cant say this was a Alien space ship, but if it was not, the Earth has developed a new type of ship that is quite impressive."

28-Aug-2002, Langley: (10:30 pm)

An aircraft mechanic was at his home, near 240th Street and the Fraser Highway in Langley, when he saw a white strobing light moving erratically in the western sky. He ran inside the house to get his wife. She came out with their five children and all seven of them watched the light for between 3 and 5 minutes. He estimated that it was about 2000 feet above the ground and possibly above the Langley Airport. He called the airport, but they did not know of any object that could be causing their sighting, nor could anyone there see it. They eventually lost sight of it behind intervening trees.

30-Aug-2002, Houston: (3:42 am) HBCC UFO

My name is (name deleted), and I am a life long resident of Houston, BC. I will make this short and sweet. I have been a paranormal and parascience 'freak' for my entire life, so the recent events concerning 'UFO' sightings in the Bulkley Valley have been of great interest to me as you can well imagine. I soberly took the summer's sightings under careful consideration as they happened this year, not getting too excited but trusting that things were exactly as they were reported, especially concerning the Quick area sightings which involved people of impeccable trustworthiness.

The morning of August 30th, 2002, changed everything in a big way. What I witnessed that morning soberly seared me with a realization that one can only experience with the background that someone like you or I can understand based on many years of solid scientific research mixed with the accounts of hundreds of incidents ranging from the Roswell situation up until the Bob Lazar story that I'm sure you have scrutinized as carefully as I have.

It was Thursday night, which at 3:42am is technically a Friday morning, August 30th. Two friends of mine had driven up from Vancouver to visit, and on my lunch break I had gone to meet them at the scale turn-off to HFP (where I work) to give them the keys to my house. As I returned to work, I parked my car and walked through the 'gate' to the yard leading to the sawmill. This was exactly 3:42am. While walking through the gate where people walk from the parking lot to the sawmill, I caught something in my vision and saw it.

You surely have been to HFP, so you can envision the following description. From the exact point where I walked through the gap in the parking lot fence, I saw 'it'. I looked up to see a light source travelling at an angle approximately 25 degrees downward from a right to left position above the planer mill, on a constant heading and speed from the burner to the planer roof and out of view. I stopped dead when I saw it, and watched it move in a perfectly straight and perfectly even speed until it was out of view over the planer roof.

Picture the planer as being a building approximately 300 yards from my position at the border of the parking lot. Beyond the planer is a couple of railway tracks and a chip pile, and then a beaver pond and then forest on a hillside. The light source was clearly beyond those trees on the hillside, but not much. It was an overcast night, so the object was clearly well below the cloud level. As far as the size of the 'object', that is obviously completely dependant on its distance from my position. I estimated that it was less than a quarter mile away, which would have made its size quite small, maybe three to four feet in diameter. It moved on a perfectly straight line, disappearing below the tree line. As for its appearance, it was a very even light source that was purely 'white' without twinkling in any way. In other words, it was not a small bright source but rather an actual round circle of perfectly consistent light emitting from its entire surface. As for speed, again it's hard to say as it would be based entirely on its distance from my position. Let me say that what stood out was the absolute 'evenness' of its movement, which more than anything else gave me an eerie sinking in my guts. At that time I knew that it was moving faster than a Cessna would, but far slower than any celestial object such as a shooting star would.

There's not much else to say. After seeing it disappear out of sight I ran inside the mill, and grabbed a millwright that I respect for his intelligence and open-mind. I basically dragged him onto the roof of the sawmill where we stood and scanned the sky for the next hour or so, without seeing anything but not for lack of looking. With very little thought as to the consequences I told everyone I met that night what I had seen, and at the first opportunity I grabbed a compass specific map of the mill site and plotted out the vector of what I had seen that night. Taking into account a wide margin for the distance from my position, I shaded a plot of land where the object would have been, and the next day dragged two friends out to the area where I spent upwards of three hours zig-zagging around the area on the infinitesimal chance that there would be some ground based evidence of what would have been the point where the light source I saw met the Earth based on it's downward angle. While I didn't find anything, it is interesting to note that amongst the cattle range land in the area there is a hydro R.O.W. that runs perfectly parallel to and at a proper distance to my viewing stance. It is not unreasonable to say that the light source I saw was directly over this power line, which could bring into discussion several elecro-magnetic possibilities for what I saw (even though the object I witnessed would have been 500 feet or more above the power lines when I first saw it).

That's about it, all I can say in summary is that what I saw was quite obviously not a shooting star or sattelite (it was 'near' in other words) and it was not a plane or any other kind of craft that could explain what I saw. There was no tail of any kind to what I saw, and all I can emphasize is that not only was the light perfectly even in it's whiteness (no twinkling) it was the steadiness of it's movement that was most striking. This was not glare from something, this was not a celestial phenomenon and certainly not a craft of any design I can imagine. Even behind the direct glare of many bright halogen lights along the roof of both the planer and the sawmill this light source stood out, so you can get an idea of how bright this was to catch my attention as it did. Feel free to use this information as you see fit, and contact me if you think there is any more information I can provide. If you have trouble visualizing the area of my sighting, just think of something travelling from South to North about a quarter mile East of the HFP parking lot. Also, if you need to discuss UFO's in general, get ahold of me because I assure you I am as educated as anyone can be in this area.

Sep-2002, Vancouver: (9:15 am)

“I think your website is great...I had an experience myself in September of 2002. I was hanging out laundry at 9:15am and straight up to the north east and there was a round solid white sphere sitting in the sky. At fist I thought it was a bird or plane or balloon so I went inside for a minute and thought about what I saw, then went back outside, and it was still there. It just hung there for 20 minutes. At arms length it was the size of a basketball...who knows?"

Sep-2002, Revelstoke, BC:

Me my boss and co-workers were driving to work on a clear sunny day when we looked towards Mount Begbie and saw a big silver like round diamond shaped object in front of the mountain the sun was glaring off it. The UFO was way too big to be a plane and seconds after it just went vertical and gone. About 2 minutes after that a helicopter flew by and it and kinda gave us the judgement on how big it was it was probably 10 times the size of the helicopter.

September 2002, Duncan: (11:00 pm)

"Hi. I live in Duncan on Vancouver Island. The sighting I'm going to share took place in the fall of last year, I think it was September 2002. I live away from town so the view of the night sky is great here. One night at about 11:00 I was outside having a smoke. It was clear that night so I searched the sky for any shooting stars or satellites. After a few minutes I was rewarded with a bright satellite slowly drifting overhead on a south east heading. At least I thought it was a satellite, but what it did next made it quite clear it was not. As I watched it pass above Orion's Belt I noticed it began to change course. On it's original course it should have passed above Orion's Belt. But when it reached the center star of the Belt it turned in a tight arc through the Belt, and began to run parallel to it's original course but heading north west, not south east. It then stopped dead in it's tracks. I am sure of what I saw since I was able to use it's proximity to Orion's belt as a stationary reference point. When it stopped it was still under the Belt. At this point every hair on my body stood on end. After about 30 seconds it began to move in a straight line, up through it's original south east course, at a 45 degree angle. Then it stopped about 5 seconds later. From there it began a slow reverse "S" pattern moving south before stopping under the Belt again. Then it darted in a straight line due east until it was well clear of the constellation of Orion. Then it stopped once more before glowing bright white and then simply vanished. I know this was no satellite since they can't maneuver this wildly. Our fragile satellites would be flattened by the G forces this object encountered. It also could not have had a human occupant since we'd be turned to goo by the same G forces. As far as I know a satellite can't maintain a stationary orbit either without falling back to earth. They need their velocity to maintain orbit. Though I'm not convinced it was alien in origin, I doubt even NASA could build anything that could survive G forces of this magnitude. Imagine that this object was traveling at about 18,000mph, typical orbital speed of most satellites and NASA's orbiters. What could possibly withstand going from 18,000mph to a stand-still in an instant?"

"Usually I'd say nothing, but I can't deny what I saw. It was both wonderful and beautiful, as well as terrifying. Have you had reports of craft similar to this? Any thoughts? Feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments about this sighting."

11-Sep-2002, Peachland: (8:30 am)

“It was 8:30 in the morning on a bus ride, there could have been a few more people who saw it but I was so amazed that I couldn't take my eyes off of it or even say; look at that! It was a shiny silver, reflecting off the sun and was a pyramid shape on its side but I didn’t get to see the rest of the dimensions of it because it went behind the mountain above the Coquihalla Hwy (west). There were no lights or anything and it went through the trees and disappeared from sight! It was a triangle and I saw it for about 7 seconds before it went out of sight.”

It appears that this 13-year old student was quite shaken. She also mentioned that there was no sound accompanying the object although it would have been difficult to hear something from within a bus. The object didn’t change direction and was traveling North-East. She described the object’s size as “a little bit smaller then a full grown pine tree” and went on to describe what transpired after the sighting.

“I asked my science teacher if there was anything that would explain it but all he could come up with was a wing of a plane, he said that a certain angle would create that effect. I don’t think that it could have been that though, it even glided through the trees. I hated the look on people's faces when I told them!”

A big thank-you to Gordon Kijek of AUFOSG for forwarding the initial report to us.

14-Sep-2002, Vancouver, BC: (1:00 am) HBCC UFO

I only saw it as it passed directly over my head. There was no sound at all, and it just faded away in about 2-3 seconds. It was triangular in shape, had some orange and red hue to it (like little circles on the edges), but mostly white (very bright, brighter than the moon), with the point of it heading north until it faded out. I have ever seen anything like this in my life. The lack of sound and the shape of it had in me in complete awe. I wonder if anyone else from Vancouver saw this too.

14-Sep-2002, Terrace: (9:30 pm) HBCC UFO

A man and woman saw a bright white light in the northern sky. As they watched, it grew larger and brighter. The man said that the object was extremely large and as bright as an arc welder, but white in colour. He stated that, at its closest, it was 3 to 4 times as big as the moon. At one point before the object reached their home, it stopped for a couple of seconds, then continued towards them, passing close by the property. They watched this large object get smaller and smaller as it flew to the south towards the Kitimat area.

22-Sep-2002, Vancouver: (3:13 pm) Report by Graham Conway

On the 22nd September, 2002 at 3.l3 pm Scott was walking down Howe Street when at the junction of Robson he saw two men watching something in the sky. One of the men was a security guard at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Upon asking he was directed to a small object in the clear blue sky. To determine if it was moving he lay on the grass outside the gallery and lined the silver colored object up against a telephone pole. It was moving south. He continued to watch it until it moved behind a building and out of view. Standing up to search the sky he heard someone call him from across the street asking if he wanted to see a UFO. He then joined a group of five men and two women. After a period of observation the group left him in a car.

At 4:45 he called me to make me aware of this situation. Scott then decided he needed a greater expanse of sky to continue viewing so headed for the harbour area and specifically Canada Place. After fifteen minutes he arrived and found the object was still high over the city, moving back and forth quite rapidly and "changing places". Stopping an American couple (tourists) he then asked them to view the object through the telephoto lens of their camera. After doing this the male stated it was a balloon and they departed.

At 5:l5 pm Scott again phoned me to say that he was still observing the craft. He now approached a Russian couple who had a telephoto lens on their camera. At this point the object had turned from an orange to a bright red. Its original elliptical(?) shape was now visible as a disc. When he had spoken to the men outside the Art Gallery they had described it as a "star". However he doesn’t know whether they meant it looked like a star or was star shaped.

After Scott's second phone call I took my binoculars out to a vantage point (in Delta) and looked towards the Vancouver but haze and the great distance, plus pollution, made my search fruitless. By 6:05 pm the witness said that the object was "pulsing"(?) or maybe just rotating which created the pulsing impression as the sun glinted off it. By now a contrail was being created across the city sky from north to south and ended abruptly over the city. The object was lost behind this trail and Scott left for home.

This sighting has a total of 14 witnesses to our knowledge. On three separate occasions the object emitted three short vapour trails that dispersed very rapidly. One such trail even evaporated in a REVERSE direction!

Early October, 2002, Roger's Pass, BC: (9 - 11 PM)

This has been troubling me for some time, but I've now decided to report it. This happened on October 5 or 6, 2002. I had left Golden, B.C. about 9 p.m. Pacific Time, driving alone, heading west toward Revelstoke. Having driven the route many times, and usually at night, I calculated that I should arrive in Revelstoke before 10:30 p.m. I usually try to get in early enough to find a motel or campsite, depending on the weather.

There is a point on the eastern side of Rogers Pass, where the highway takes a sweeping turn to the right (when you're westbound) at the end of a long straight stretch and begins the steeper climb toward summit, passing through snow sheds on the way up. Approaching this curve, while travelling along the straight stretch I remember seeing what I thought were the taillights of a tractor-trailer rig far ahead, disappearing around the curve.

Next thing I know, I feel like I'm lost. The road seems very unfamiliar. The route is level or slightly downhill, rather than the steep climb I'm expecting to Rogers Pass. I don't recognize the road at all. It's certainly not the road I was expecting coming out of the corner. The time on the car's clock shows that it's a little before 11 p.m and that makes me all the more confused. Suddenly I pass a sign that reads Revelstoke 14 km (or thereabouts). At that point, I know where I am, but it occurs to me that I somehow drove a large segment of my route without any recollection of it. I do not remember driving through any of the snow sheds on the way up or down. I don't remember driving through Rogers Pass, where I normally try to be vigilant of the road and weather conditions, especially the hairpin turns on the west side of the pass, that can be treacherous at that time of year. Initially, I chalk the experience up to fatigue. After all, who hasn't driven a familiar route, lost in thought or distraction, and not remembered parts of it? But I'm troubled at the thought of not remembering so much of this route. How could I pass all those snow sheds without remembering even one of them? How could I miss the bright lights and speed zones at Rogers Pass? How could I have been daydreaming for more than half of my route? And how did I end up 30 minutes or more behind schedule?

I arrived in Revelstoke shortly after 11 p.m. and found a motel. I awoke the next morning with a strange sense of not caring about the events of the previous evening, yet still feeling that something was amiss about the trip. I also felt as though I would be happier not to travel that route again.

Since then, I continue to have a strong sense that I would like to avoid the highway between Revelstoke and Golden. I travelled it once, in 2005, with a passenger, at mid-day, and keeping other traffic in sight at all times. I remember feeling very uneasy on the stretch of road below Rogers Pass. Aside from that, I have never travelled that route again, at any time of year or any time of day. I usually take a longer route using the Thompson and Yellowhead highways. I practically lose my temper any time someone suggests driving Rogers Pass. I argue strenuously for any other route, even if it's longer. I just do not want to be on that road, and I don't really understand why.

I have often had dreams about that trip, the parts of it that I remember, as if I'm driving it over and over. Earlier this year, I had a dream in which I watched the lights of the tractor-trailer ahead as they began to go around the corner. Suddenly, the lights reverse direction and within a second or so close the distance and fly over my car. In my dream, I'm leaning forward in the driver seat, craning my neck to look upward through the windshield, where I see a single, large red light a few feet above my car. I'm suddenly filled with terror and, even though I'm asleep, I feel like I can't breathe and I begin hyperventilating and try to cry out for help but only make hoarse squeaking sounds. And then I wake up. My wife said I was "breathing funny" and it worried her.

I really don't know what happened on that trip, or if the dream is anything more than my subconscious playing tricks on me. But with the recurring dreams, and that one in particular with the light, I wonder if something else happened on that trip. I think about it a lot, but I don't know why.

Thanks for listening.

3-Oct-2002, Houston: (10:15 am)  HBCC UFO

A Houston resident reported seeing a very strange object traveling slowly in a southwesterly direction. The witness was on her telephone talking with her daughter, she was looking out their kitchen window which faces the Telkwa mountain range. She noticed a strange, pale yellow colored object traveling slowly below the horizon of the mountain range. She said it was completely "round". The sky was clear, except for some low cloud/fog in some areas. But the location where she observed the object, the weather conditions were clear. The witness told her daughter to hold on, dropped the telephone and ran outside onto their patio deck to get a better look at it. At this time the object rose up against the sky line, but still continued along it's path, which again was in a southwesterly direction heading towards the Morice River Road.

4-Oct-2002, Vancouver: (8:45 pm)

The witness was walking down Main Street when he saw a “star” moving apparently above the trees not far away. The bright star was tinged with red and travelling N. West to N. East at a fairly slow pace. As he reached Main Street at 34/35th the object came close enough that he could recognize a polygon shape with flashing light(s) at the rear which alternated between white and blue. At this point the witness guessed the craft about 1/4 mile away and somewhere between 1000 and 1500 feet altitude. The other thing that surprised him was he was unable to discern any accompanying noise. The craft was visible for between 3 to 4 minutes and had turned SE in the direction of Burnaby when last seen. The sky at the time was overcast. (The witness had an experience in Mexico in 1948 when in Monterrey he viewed a “ball of fire” rolling through the clouds in the direction of El Paso, Texas.

9-Oct-2002, New Westminster: (3:21 pm) NUFORC

“I noticed in the sky what appeared to be some floating garbage or black balloons of some type which seemed to be liked together like a cluster of balloons with a definite arrow shape to the mass. This seemed a little odd and puzzling this shape. The distance of this floating garbage or balloons when I first spotted it was probably 20 stories high compared to the height of a high rise building. Whatever this was flying up in the air, I just thought, it's got to be garbage and didn't think anything much of it, but I did continue to watch this (garbage) float upwards with what I assume was air currents moving it upwards. As my head was looking up towards the sky in an easterly direction at this floating garbage, I caught sight of a disc shaped grey object moving rapidly skimming the clouds and moving fast and steady from an easterly direction towards a south western direction. It moved smoothly across the sky from the East and curved on an angle towards a South Westerly direction. I watched it move across the sky till infinity (I couldn't see it anymore). I had a fix on this object for at least 30 seconds crossing the sky. It wasn't a bird or small plane. Stunned at what I saw, and frankly, if it wasn't for that (garbage thing) floating upwards, I probably wouldn't have seen this object at all.”

“I looked in the sky where I originally had first spotted the object (which was in the easterly sky) and about 45 seconds to 1 minute after the pass of the first object, there was a second flying object of similar size, heading from an Easterly direction towards a definite Southern direction. At the moment that I spotted this second object, there was an airliner in the sky heading towards Vancouver airport. This object was much higher than the plane, and this 2nd object also was skimming the clouds as well.”

10-Oct-2002, Victoria: (7:45 pm) NUFORC

“Very bright white light moving from north and banking to eastward with no sound and using binoculars could see dark shape visible around white light it disappeared into the sky rather than flew away. Not a satellite, meteor or shooting star. Those don't change direction and no flashing lights like a plane and it flew directly overhead. Helicopter flew low from east to west shortly after.”

12-Oct-2002, Langley: (11:45 pm) NUFORC

“I went outside to have a cigarette pretty close to midnight on Oct. 12th, 2002. I star gaze on a regular basis. I live close to the Langley airport and have single aircraft flying experience. I was observing how clear the sky was and how prominent the constellations were, when directly above me, (Approx. 5 to 8 thousand feet) an object flew over. The object was V-shaped and had six rectangular lights underneath. The lights were faded rather than bright. It was moving very fast. I could definitely see an outline of the V shape. I was listening for sound to determine what kind of craft it may be (ultralight, glider, etc.) but there was absolutely no sound at all. As I watched it crossing in front of me the lights totally disappeared and I could no longer see the shape or any existence of the object. I called the local police to see if there were sightings reported on that night but their records showed no calls on the subject. I also called Langley airport to see if they had any kind of search lights or strobes that would reach my location, although there was no cloud cover or mist in the sky that would have caused a reflection. They were not aware of any calls. I know what I saw, and it was definitely nothing I've seen before. I felt very baffled and looked like I had seen a ghost according to my family. I keep mulling it over in my head trying to imagine what this could have possibly been. If anyone had a similar experience on the evening of Oct 12th and living in the Murrayville, to Aldergrove area, I would really like them to share it.”

22-Oct-2002, Granisle: (10:25 pm) HBCC UFO

Two witnesses were travelling north, just a couple of kilometers south of Granisle, when they observed a large glowing orange/gold almost saucer-shaped (oval?) object hovering right over top the old Bell Copper mine. (The old mine is on an island on Babine Lake, about 1 kilometre directly across from them). They said it was very low to the ground. At this point they pulled over to have a look and to try to figure out what they were seeing. As they watched the object hover, it would rise up very slowly and come to a complete stop, move sideways then stop and drop down roughly the same height from the ground when the witnesses first saw it. At one point the object moved out over the lake and stopped for a few seconds, then went back over top the mine once again. The object looked almost as large as a full moon would have looked. It made no sound that they could hear.

The witnesses said that everyone traveling the highway had to have seen it, you couldn't miss it. They said the area around the object, (ground area) was lit up for some distance. Also due to the brightness of the craft it cast its reflection on the lake. The men watched this event for about 7 minutes before it rose up and left slowly heading north, still at a low altitude, and out of their sight.

30-Oct-2002, Surrey: (6:52 pm)

The witness had stepped out on to her balcony for a cigarette. No sooner had she done so than a brilliant streak of light crossed the sky from South-Northeast. It was a visible mixture of orange, red and yellow, leaving behind it a long trail. Her impression was that it had just entered the earth's atmosphere on a diagonal path. She was able to count up to 5 before it suddenly disappeared (burnt up?). Its entry point was high in the heavens. The sky was cloudless. It made no discernable noise. Her description concluded with the statement, "it definitely was NOT any local kid's rocket!".

1-Nov-2002, Victoria: (3:35 pm) HBCC UFO

“I live in Victoria BC, and today at approx 1535 hours I was outside where I heard a brrrrring of a small plane and turned my eyes to see it travelling in a North to South direction at around 4000 to 5000 feet (normal altitude, whatever that is). It was a small Cessna type aircraft with bright yellow sides and a red tail section. Today was a brilliantly clear day so the colors of the plane were plainly visible. Suddenly my eyes caught a glimpse of another aircraft flying in the same direction except, to the west of the other, and much closer to me. This second object was a much larger craft than the Cessna; in fact the nose of it extended much farther forward of the small swept-back wings than the Cessna. It resembled a DC9 in basic shape but the wings were very short. This craft was pure white and did not appear to have windows or markings of any kind on the body of the craft. It may have been the time of day but its wings were kind of indistinct and shadowy. But the whole strange part of this is that the farther away Cessna was travelling at a much higher rate of speed than this object. This object continued very slowly on its Southerly course until it was out of sight. I have never seen such a large aircraft fly so slowly. In fact it seemed impossible for a fixed wing aircraft to do that at all. There were no contrails or noise from this object.”

1-Nov-2002, Kitwanga: (6:30 pm)  HBCC UFO

4 people were returning home from work about 22 kilometers outside of Kitwanga on the mitt-in-main forestry road when they saw a bright, yellowish/white light with a "beam" coming from the bottom of it. They saw it for about 3 seconds before it disappeared. One witness said that the beam of light was like holding a flashlight and shining it into a fog. He said that the light did not move and then it just disappeared.

4-Nov-2002, Houston: (6:35 pm)  HBCC UFO

The witness had just walked out of his house and was about to get into his car when he saw bright white saucer/oval-shaped object moving across the sky very quickly. There was no tail associated with it. What ever it was, was heading in an easterly direction at a rather low altitude (below the cloud cover). The sighting lasted for about 6 seconds before he lost sight of it as it flew over top a small local mountain. The witness reported hearing no sound from this object.

17-Nov-2002, Crescent Beach: (8:15 am)

Witness observed a gray sphere over the water at Crescent Beach. He estimated that it was about 25 feet in diameter. For the full description and drawing click HERE.

20-Nov-2002, Merritt: (5:45 pm)  NUFORC

“I was out for a brief bit of stargazing during a meditation retreat, and while admiring the familiarity of the big dipper I happened to notice a strange object. Initially I was attracted by a series of reddish flashing/shimmering lights, arranged in 3 groups - forming the corners of a large triangle. The lights moved from the corners down the edges of the object, then reaccumulated back at the corners. I watched this object for approximately 2 minutes, and as I watched, it passed in front of several stars, verifying its solidity between the 3 corners of lights. It moved quite slowly and consistently from East to West, about 30 degrees above the Northern Horizon. Before passing behind a stand of trees, 2 large spotlights appeared on the rear end of the object. The spots moved in large, circular motions before disappearing. I lost sight of the object after it went behind the stand of trees. It made no sound that I could hear. With no reference besides the trees and stars, I'm hesitant to hazard a guess at the size of the object, but my initial feeling is that it was quite large - perhaps 100 [feet?] on each edge.”

23-Nov-2002, Terrace: (5:15 pm)  HBCC UFO

Five witnesses saw a bright white light in the east, over Thron Hill Mountain. The light initially looked twice as big as Venus, but slowly faded and disappeared after 10 to 15 seconds. About 15 minutes later, two more lights were seen for a few seconds before blinking out. All the witnesses thought it strange that there was one cloud hanging over Thron Hill Mountain the whole time of their observation, even though it was very windy and the rest of the sky was clear.

30-Nov-2002, Hot Springs Cove: (8:50 pm)  NUFORC

"At about 2050 hours on the Saturday night in hot springs cove, situated about 25 miles north of Tofino, british columbia, i observed very low on the horizon to the east and lower right of the dipper a very bright light which over the next two hours performed a great number of movements. Typical movements included circular loops and some very rapid vertical motions followed by rapid change of direction to horizontal and then followed by a loop terminating in about the original position. one characteristic was the instantaneous change of direction of flight. another feature was the very brightness of the object: it was brighter than any nearby star and it did not flicker at all."

"I determined the motion of this object by referencing two stationary objects and sighting along to see what the motion was. the most rapid motion was vertically downwards which happened perhaps four or five times during the two hours of observation. it was a very crisp clear night though a bit of fog developed later."

"Other than the rotation of the earth displaying ever unfolding vista through the night, the only other bright object with motion was an aircraft flying basically north to south."

14-Dec-2002, Richmond:

“Mostly cloudy with some open patches. I was standing in my carport having a cigarette. I happened to be looking south at that exact moment.  A light powder blue streak of light flew from the clouds and what looked like straight down. It was a high rate of speed. It seemed so close, yet I am sure it was far. From the clouds until it shot down behind the treeline was about a second or a little less. I waited to see if there was a sonic boom or some kind of impact. I heard nothing  I ran inside and called 2 television stations to ask if they know what it was. They did not know. I asked if there was any other sightings called in.....but no... They took my name and number down and told me they would call me back. They never did. Was I the only person looking in the southern sky at that moment?  Out of 100,000's or more?”

“I have seen meteors with a white tail, with an orange tail, as well I have seen space debris and a whole rocket enter the atmosphere, which was spectacular. All had either orange or white glowing tail.... This was Blue. Exactly like a propane torch when you make a blue flame. It had 2 shades. Can anyone tell me what it could have been? Based on the colour, I can only think it could have been ball lightning shooting from the clouds. It wasn't conventional lightning, and I never have seen Ball lighting, but I have read about it. I didn't think it shoots that fast.”

“Please let me know what you may think? Thank You.”

“Wait just a minute!!! I was just thinking about it....I did not want to change anything in the above, so I will add it here. Thinking about it, the object must have been close. It was in front of the clouds. If it was a clear night, I would say it could have been very far. It had to be close if I couldn't see the sky in that area. Only cloud. Above me was open patches with stars. Interesting....”

UFO*BC Responds: (Martin Jasek)

Thanks for your report Andrew. What was your approximate location when you saw the blue streak of light? Also which direction were you looking and which direction was the object traveling? Meteorites do come in all sorts of colors depending on their chemical composition. Blue usually means it may had contained some copper or perhaps some other more exotic metal. As far a seeing it in front of the clouds, if the meteor is bright enough, it may be visible right through the clouds. Just like one can see the sun or the moon through the clouds at times. As you mentioned that there were stars visible in other parts of the sky it wasn't a thick overcast and therefore this may had been possible. Thanks again.

UFO*BC Responds: (Gavin McLeod)

Hi Andrew: Thank you for the Email. Although I can not be 100 percent certain that I know what you saw, it sounds like something I once observed. In the summer of 1996 at approx. 6:40 AM I observed to the south of my location a vertical light in the clear daylight sky. A peacock blue line was being drawn vertically down the sky. At the head of this line was a very bright white light surrounded by a light blue light. The object was a large bolides and was reported by 5 people. The astronomer at the McMillan Space Centre told me that the object was probably about three feet in diameter and probably landed in the Pacific Ocean. Although it seemed to be fairly close I could not hear any sound and the object was probably hundreds of miles away. Although most bolides do not show a blue colour it is not an unprecedented phenomena.

19-Dec-2002, Terrace/Kitimat: (9:25 pm)

“From Onion Lake ski trails it looked like one big light. As we got closer it was a number of bright lights hovering over the forest. It was hard to see the shape because the lights were so bright. It was the wrong shape for an airplane or a helicopter. The passenger in the car counted 6 large bluish white lights on the bottom of the object there was another row of lights above this, also smaller red and blue flashing lights. Turned around at the bottom of the hill and went back and the object had disappeared.”

21-Dec-2002, Victoria: (9:20 am)  HBCC UFO

“On Saturday Dec 21, 2002 I was on the ferry going to Victoria from Vancouver. At 9:20 a.m. I went out on the deck to have a cigarette. I was the only one out at that time because it was quite cool and windy. There was blue sky but with lots of clouds that were moving quite fast because of the wind. I saw a white ball or sphere shaped object approaching a cloud. It didn't move very fast, it seemed to float but I know it wasn't a balloon. It was very white. It didn't look very big but how can I tell at that height. I watched it for about ten seconds not taking my eye off it. As it was approaching the cloud and then was covered by the cloud I waited for it to reappear after the wind moved the cloud (the cloud wasn't big) but I never saw it again. It either moved with the cloud or disappeared. It was moving in the northwest direction until it was covered in the cloud, then I don't know what happened to it. Other people came out and I was going to ask them to look at it but it never came out of the cloud so I don't know if anyone else saw it. The length of the event took about 10 to 15 seconds. I have contacted some sources in hopes of trying to solve this case.”

27-Dec-2002, Granisle: (2:10 am)  HBCC UFO

The witness and three other co-workers were doing some last minute work around the logging camp which is located across Babine Lake from Granisle, British Columbia. One of the workers gave out a loud cry telling the other workers to look about half a kilometer to the north. The men all witnessed a bright, white/yellowish light coming from behind the trees in the distance. At this point all that was visible was a brightness shining above the trees. After dropping everything the men were doing, watching and wondering what this glowing light was, to their shock a large glowing golden/orangish disk shaped object with a large halo of white around the craft rose up in the distance and stopped and hovered. They observed the object for about 10 seconds at the most, which the fellow said, “seemed like a life time”. As the object moved away from their location, heading roughly to the north they did lose sight of the craft quickly, but could still see the bright light, which they figured was coming from the object. After about 5 minutes the light grew faint and disappeared.
