“It was saucer-shaped with a deep red dome.
Underneath it was a brilliant white, and the
lower rim changed from green to blue.” This
was the eye-witness description of a UFO
sighting made at Parson, B.C., on December
30, 1967. A housewife and mother who, with
her husband and 12-year-old son, watched the
antics of a UFO for more than four hours,
Mrs. Mary Hough said she had been unable to
sleep and about 3 a.m. she sat at the front
room window and watched the stars. At that
time she saw a very bright star which
disappeared sometime later. At about 3:30
a.m., another bright star appeared. She
lined it up with a fir tree in the yard and
realized it was moving in the pattern of a
staircase. Mrs. Hough got her 8x30
binoculars and gave the above description
except that it also changed its position
from horizontal to vertical. She watched the
object for about an hour and about 4:30 a.m.
awakened her husband who also watched the
UFO. At about 6 a.m., she awakened her son
who also watched the object. The Hough
family watched it until shortly after 7 a.m.
when they last saw it and the object went
straight up.
