On April 1st, police were called to the scene
about 8 p.m. to the 900 block Laurel Street.
They were told that an orange disc "no more
than about three feet in diameter" had hovered
for about three minutes at a height of some 60
feet above the ground. The apparent sighting
occurred in the rear of a home owned by Dr.
J.S. Kennedy. His 14-year-old son Blaine told
police the object ejected an orange flame,
travelled up at a high speed then hovered at
about 200 feet before speeding away. The
object was first seen by Terry Bradley, age
12. Deputy police chief Peter Mehan commented
that no other local sighting has been as well
documented by witnesses.
