More unidentified flying objects were reported over Victoria Tuesday night.

Trailing mainly red lights, the objects were reported in the northern sky travelling in a general southeast to northwest direction.

Allan Young, 991 Lodge Avenue, reported seeing the object at 8:30 p.m.

CHANGED COLOR

“It changed color from a bright to a dim red and then to a white and greenish color,” he said. “It also moved up and down.”

Mr. Young still had the object in sight as he phoned the Colonist.

NOT SPACESHIP

John H. Steele of 24 Douglas, reported seeing an object which he did not think was a spaceship at about 9:30 p.m. in the eastern sky. It seemed to move southeast to northwest.

“It seemed to hang in the sky above the transmitter lights on Trial Island” he said.

FADED LIKE FLARE

“It suddenly seemed to more or less explode and turn yellowish and drop, and it faded like a flare.”

The switchboard of radio station CKLG in Vancouver was jammed with callers between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after hundreds of people reported seeing red objects in the sky south of Vancouver.

SOUP PLATES

Two watchers on Burnaby Mountain said it was like two inverted soup plates stuck together, and had a pulsating red glow.
