Proceeding home in my car when I saw a plane overhead with upper and lower fuselage lights rotating and taillights flashing intermittently; stopped car when I saw what appeared to be an object buzzing around the plane as if in pursuit. Plane continued normal flight course and object seemed to separate itself from pursuing plane.

It started to dart rapidly around the sky in the location of the Strait of Georgia between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia. It emitted red lights, flashing on and off with constant regularity. It continued to move rapidly through the sky and then disappeared as though it realized something was observing it. I tried to arouse witnesses before it disappeared but did not succeed, as it disappeared before anyone else could be summoned to witness it.
