This photograph of an unidentified flying object
was taken by Keith Brammer, Whitehorse, of the
Forestry Branch, on September 18 at Primrose
Point, Lake Arkell. Keith first spotted the
silvery object when he looked overhead to see a
jet, and this strange craft remained in view long
after the jet had gone. From nine a.m. until 11:45
the UFO remained in sight, moving slowly south,
then back, to the west and back, and finally off
to the south and out of sight. Brammer used
8-point binoculars to get this picture, reproduced
from the original colour slide. The wisp of cloud
visible is a high stratus type and the Forestry
man felt the UFO must have been about 50,000 feet.
Lake Arkell is about thirty miles west of
Whitehorse. Anybody identify it?
News reports from Vancouver today
stated a similar object had been sighted by the
UFO club in that city recently.
