Dr. T. A. Oliver of the UAC geology department is seeking information about a
meteorite which reportedly passed over Calgary Wednesday night.
Dr. Oliver is specifically interested
in talking to residents east of the city since the meteorite is said to have
headed in that direction.
The flash of light, which officials
at the department of transport meteorological office at McCall Field believe
to be a meteorite, appeared over the city about 10:35 p.m.
One witness said it was like a flash
of lightning. Both the meteorological office and the university geology
department have received numerous inquiries about it.
