Woman sees light "Drop out of the Sky" from Vallyview Subdivision
Spring of 1996 or 1997, Whitehorse, Yukon
A woman in Vallyview Subdivision was getting ready for work one morning. The sky was still dusky but the suns glow could be seen over the mountains to the east through her fairly large living room window. The colors were especially beautiful so she sat down on the couch to enjoy the view when she noticed an exceptionally bright deep yellow colored light over the mountains to the east. It appeared to be too bright and too big to be a star. She thought it might be a plane coming in for a landing but the approach was from the wrong direction. Perhaps a helicopter? But the color was all wrong for an aircraft light.
She watched the light for about 5 minutes, trying to figure out what it was. The light remained stationary. She got up to get her morning cup of coffee. Upon her return the light was still there. As she sat down, the light quickly went straight down behind the mountain. It seemed to "drop out of the sky!" She has been perplexed by the incident ever since and reported the sighting in January 99 after seeing a UFO reporting ad in the Yukon News.
To help establish the time of year, there was still snow on the ground but it was springtime. The direction she was viewing the light was across the Norcan car dealer lot from Vallyview Subdivision.
