A Blue Orb of Light Flies across the Hood of a Man’s Car

on the Klondike Highway, Yukon

Late November or early December 1997, 6:00 AM

A man travelling north on the Klondike Highway between Braeburn Lodge and Carmacks saw what looked like to be a large blue flare pass over the hood of his vehicle from left to right. The object hit the ditch, bounced back up, and continued back up into the sky. He figured it had to be no bigger than the size of a basketball. Since he thought that somebody may have fired a flare at his vehicle the man reported the incident to the RCMP in the Village of Carmacks. However, he did think that the fact that it bounced back up and was blue in color was inconsistent with a flare. The incident occurred near some old cabins and shacks that were on the left (west) side of the highway. There are two such locations north of Braeburn Lodge, each about 35 km (22 miles) and 46 km (29 miles) north of the lodge.
