In September, 1968, Hermanus
Voorluys and Reginald Neal, both of Victoria, B.C. noticed an occasional light at night
over the naval base at Esquimalt. The light would change color, varying between blue,
orange and red, and move spasmodically. Eventually, using a telephoto lens, they obtained
a good picture and were surprised to see the light was a formation of five objects. When
they reported the matter to navy officials, they went through a succession of interviews
without a clear conclusion being reached.
