Dear _
Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is J_. I
am 46 years old and I live in Western Australia. I like to think I am a fairly
normal, logical person. Not crazy or a nutter, but I came across your website
last night by accident, and it totally blew me away.
I was killing time on you tube, and you know how it is. You
start looking at one thing, which leads to another, and so on. I came across a
video of a man in New Zealand who claimed he had been abducted by aliens. It is
a video of his recollections under hypnosis. It is quite long, but I watched it
all the way through.
Here is a link to that video:

In the video, he mentions that president Eisenhower had
meetings with aliens. I thought that was interesting so I googled it. I was
reading one article about the subject, and was reading people's comments below
the article when one person mentioned the Mantis. This immediately caught my
attention, and I will explain why in a minute. So I then googled Mantis Alien
and came across an article by Jim G. I read it and thought "Oh my God....I
have seen that!"
Now that I have explained how I accidentally came across
your website I shall tell you my story as best as I can...
It started when I was a teenager and went on until my early
thirties. I would wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to move.
It was terrifying and I would try to scream but nothing would come out.
Sometimes I would see a bright round light across the room and I always felt
like it was trying to drain the energy/life out of me. Sometimes I felt a heavy
pressure on me and a couple of times I even thought I could feel someone next to
me on the bed. Once I saw a figure in black who I just felt was evil, standing next to my bed and it also felt like
he was trying to drain the energy/life out of me. Sometimes I didn't see
anything at all but I was paralysed and terrified but could never scream. It
was like my throat was paralysed too. And one time I woke up to see a large
praying mantis type creature sitting in a chair looking at me and there was a
small hooded/cloaked figure next to him. I can't tell you much about the
smaller figure because I didn't pay that much attention to it. I was more
terrified of the larger creature and It had my full attention. And one thing I
do have memory of is noticing a large gold medallion on its chest area. I know
also that it was very tall even though it was sitting on a chair. I think it
was wearing some kind of cape around its shoulders. I do remember also feeling
like it was studying me with indifference, if that makes any sense. Like it
didn't seem to care that I was looking back at it, or that I was terrified.
More like I was just an object in front of it that it was looking at. I have
never gone into this much detail about it before, but these are the main things
that stand out in my memory.
I did not tell anyone about these 'episodes' for many years.
I didn't want people to think I was crazy. I didn't even tell my parents. I did
confide in my first husband who told me it was probably evil spirits or aliens.
I will admit that I had thought of these thing but dismissed them because that
would just be crazy, right?
Ok, skip forward a few few years to my mid to late 20's. I
was watching an Oprah Winfrey episode about sleep disorders. The term 'sleep
paralysis' was mentioned but they just skipped over the subject and said
"Everyone knows about sleep paralysis right?" I was so frustrated
because I didn't know anything about it but immediately wanted to know more.
The word 'paralysis' was what got my attention. Unfortunately no more
information was given on the show.
So then, around my early thirties I got my first computer.
With access to the Internet, one of the first searches I did was on sleep
paralysis. I was amazed to see similarities to my story over and over. I was so
relieved to finally have a logical explanation for what I had been experiencing.
It made sense, sounded familiar to me, so I went with it it. I even wrote a
small article about my experiences for a website called 'Helium, Where
Knowledge Rules', in 2007. Also, I now wish I had put
more detail into my article about what I saw , but did not think it was
important at the time because they were just hallucinations, right? And I was
just writing about a sleep disorder, not 'encounters' or whatever you would
call them.
I should also mention that I described the creature as
'grasshopper - like', because at the time it was the only way I could think of
to describe it, but 'preying mantis - like' is a much more accurate
description.
After reading Jim's article last night I am now having
second thoughts about the whole 'sleep paralysis' syndrome. I had a sleepless
night and have felt very shaky and close to tears all day. All kinds of things
were going through my head last night and I can't make any logical sense out of
any of it.
I have 2 children, a daughter and a son. I have always been
as honest as I can about my 'sleep paralysis episodes' , just in case it ever
happened to either of them. I wanted them to have some knowledge of it so that
if it did happen they would be aware and hopefully not terrified like I was.
This morning I told my son to read Jim's article. He read it
then said "Mum, that's just like what you said!" I started telling
him some of the crazy thoughts that had
been going through my head all night. One of which is this...
I used to get infections in my left thumb. Painful, sore,
pussy blisters. I went to the doctors a few times to ask why. I was told it was
from washing dishes and that I should wear gloves while washing dishes. Another
time I was told it was similar to a cold sore only on my thumb. One day I
noticed a very small round ball under my skin at the base of my thumb. I could
move it around under the skin to a certain extent. I would describe it as a
tiny ball bearing type thing. I thought to myself "I wonder if that is
what's causing my thumb infections?" It was there for a while and I would
play with it at times, just rolling it around in there. Then one day it was
gone, and I haven't had an infection in my thumb since.
I mentioned this also to my son this morning before I took
him to school. Like I say, my mind has been working overtime all night with all
kinds of crazy stuff. Then today I started reading accounts from other people
on your website and in the article 'Praying Mantis Account by E' they too
mention a small round device planted in their thumb. It is all just too much of
a coincidence that all the stories are so similar.
If it really is just
'sleep paralysis', (as I was happy to believe up until last night), with
hallucinations, why are we all hallucinating the same weird stuff. In the past
24 hours I have learnt of the Mantis Alien, the Shadow Beings and the Light
Beings, all of which I feel I have have
experienced. This is just too weird!
Now I am wondering if the term 'sleep paralysis' was put out
there by the government to use to explain away these weird happenings. And now
I know I am starting to sound crazy, and starting to feel crazy too! I just
don't know what to think anymore.
I am happy to say that I haven't had one of these 'episodes'
since my early thirties. I am thankful for that. But I still have to wonder.
Both of my children have told me they have experienced sleep paralysis, but
without the hallucination part. I don't know whether to be happy about this or
worried. But they have told me that because they know what's happening they
don't feel scared, they just wait for it to pass.
I really do feel for Jim, and the other people with similar
experiences because they seem to be so much worse than mine. I didn't see any
needles or experience any pain, and for that I am just so relieved. Even when I
woke up terrified after these episodes, and thinking I didn't want to go back
to sleep, I always did fall back into a deep sleep. That is something that I
have always found strange.
I am not really sure why I am writing to you. I guess I am
looking for some kind of definite answer. Any information you could give me
would be much appreciated. Is it really possible for different people all over
the world, at different times to hallucinate the same weird things? Like, the
mantis creature AND the small hooded figure being together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Yours sincerely,
J
