An object in the sky near Rimbey, 85 miles southwest of Edmonton, was reported Monday night.

Jack Parry, publisher of the Rimbey Record and the Eckville Examiner, said he had his binoculars on a glowing object in the lower sky for about two hours.

He described it as a large object with a central white light and flashes of red and green “exhaust” around its edge.

The bright object, which Mr. Parry first thought was a passing airplane, remained fairly stationary between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. before moving slowly west and out of sight.
